Break Your Heart - Tuesday 26 February 2019
The Parkside Practice Patient Participation Group warmly invite you to a free event to help you to live well as part of Healthy Heart Month.
Healthcare professionals from Croydon Health Services will be talking about:
- How to keep your heart healthy
- What happens if you do have heart problems
- Living well with heart disease and more
The event will take place at Christchurch Purley, Brighton Road, Purley, Surrey, CR8 2BN on bus routes 60, 166, 407 & 466. If you are coming by train Purley Station is around 500 metres away. There is parking available on site.
Light refreshments will be available.

BME Mental Health Grassroots event - 14 November 2018
We held a follow up event, again in partnership with the BME Forum to discuss progress and plans from the previous event in July. Brian Dickens, Group Operational Manager at Parchmore Medical Practice in Thornton Heath discussed his work setting up social prescribing in Croydon and its ongoing successes and recognition.
Health and Care event - 20 November 2018
Over 100 people drawn from members of the public, frontline staff, senior managers joined together on Tuesday 20 November to discuss how public services in Croydon could come together to better serve Croydon residents.

World Mental Health Day - 10 October 2018
In celebration of World Mental Health Day Croydon Council and NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) invite you to join them at a series of film and theatre events.
On Wednesday 10 October 2018 and Saturday 13 October 2018 there was two special screenings of films exploring issues around mental health at the David Lean Theatre, Croydon Library, Katherine Street.
The films were:
- So you think I’m crazy - feature length
- WIT H IN by Crowns and Owls - short film
- Perinatal Positivity - short film
Afterwards there was a question and answer session with representatives from Croydon Council and NHS Croydon CCG and one of the writers Ekanem Hines (So you think I’m crazy) in the David Lean bar.
BME Mental Health Grassroots event - 18 July 2018
We held an event with our partners, Croydon BME (black and minority ethnic) Forum to explain the current mental health landscape and future plans, and to discuss how we might best address the needs of different diverse communities in Croydon. We also heard from a local grassroots organisation, I AM More, which focuses on addressing the needs of young carers aged 11-21 years old, living in and around London

Healthwatch Adult Mental Health event - 18 July 2018
Healthwatch invited Croydon residents to ask questions directly to those changing Croydon’s adult mental health services including the CCG and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Attendees got to hear more about the future of these services in Croydon in relation to national plans for mental health outlined in NHS England’s Implementing the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.
They gave views in three rounds of small-table discussions on: self-care and support; GP and community care; and acute hospital care.

Healthwatch - Tuesday 13 March 2018
Healthwatch Croydon held an engagement event in association with the CCG where members of the public engaged directly with commissioners about plans for health services in Croydon.

Shape the future of diabetes care - Wednesday 17 January 2018
Over sixty people who live and work in Croydon gathered together at in Croydon conference centre to share their experiences and ideas for improving diabetes prevention and care.
Everyone was asked “What would I like to discuss and share which will improve diabetes care and prevention in Croydon?” and invited to identify a challenge or solution, for which they have a genuine passion and for which they would take responsibility for discussing.
Throughout the evening, people gave us their views on what the purpose of the network should be. There was a strong commitment given to working together and sharing ideas to ultimately improve outcomes for people.

This forum diverted from the normal agenda and was a working session where participants worked with us to refine our criteria against which we assess potential programmes to support our financial recovery plan.

The Governing Body is similar to a board and meets regularly in public. There is an opportunity for members of the public to ask the Governing Body members questions during the open space for public questions. To find out when the next Governing Body is happening and to submit a question, please follow this link.
Patient and Public Participation Groups
You can have your say by joining the Patient Participation Group (PPG) at your local GP practice. PPGs allow interested patients to be actively involved in the running of their GP practice.
They hold regular meetings to discuss local issues; if you are interested in being involved in your local PPG, please contact your local GP practice directly.
The Croydon Patient Participation Group Network promotes and supports the work of Croydon PPGs.
