Volunteer Patient & Public Representatives

Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group is responsible for commissioning healthcare on behalf of the residents of Croydon.  We are now recruiting volunteers to sit on several working groups to support us to make decisions about how we deliver non acute services, as part of the 'Planned Care Programme'.  We are looking for dynamic individuals who have an understanding of how we meet our statutory obligations and who want to make a difference. If you can assist the CCG to shape and steer this transformation why not apply to become a panel member.

Main Activities

  • Helping local NHS services to improve patients' experiences of services
  • Making decisions about new ways of working for local health services
  • Supporting the engagement of Croydon's residents to discuss new proposals
  • Working with local community and voluntary sector organisations to help support local people to engage with healthcare providers

Experience and Skills

  • A general interest in the NHS and a commitment to outcomes that support the commissioning of healthcare for the residents of Croydon (experience of working with the NHS is desirable but not essential)
  • An interest in the relevant work group area e.g. Dermatology, Musculoskeletal (MSK)
  • An ability to make judgements and decisions based on evidence, setting aside individual interests
  • An ability to work collaboratively in line the working party decision making processes
  • A sound understanding of Equality and Diversity (2010 Act)
  • An ability to observe the need for confidentiality when required
  • Good communication skills

Time Commitment
